THIS SCHOOL CALLED PLANET EARTH

Many of us have heard Dr. Peebles tell us hundreds of times "You have come to this school called Planet Earth, etc.", and of course you are aware of Summer's book by the same title.

Yes, we have come here, to this school called Planet Earth, to discover and dissolve the illusion of separation through the lessons given us while here. I am wondering just how far a lot of us take this. Sure, we have our lessons from other people as we are here walking the Planet Earth, but... have you ever stopped, looked around and realized that the Earth itself plus everything that inhabits it are our teachers as well?

The Earth with it's streams, that when its waters get out of the flow of the stream those waters go stagnate. How the plants grow with the elements of water, sun and soil, give us joy, then transition only to regenerate themselves once again. How the waters of the ocean evaporate into the heavens in order to rain down on us, bringing nourishment everywhere.

I love to watch the quail and how the papa takes care of mama and the little ones. If you have never seen a papa quail round up all the little babies you've missed quite a show Any of you who saw "The March of the Penguins" have to be in awe of what they go through in order to feed their newborn, or even what they go through in the process of laying and hatching the egg. We have a beautiful Cockatiel that flew into our lives more than a year ago, what an amazing teacher she is. Our pets are some of the best teachers around.

The beauty that our Planet Earth shares with us is beyond description, with her oceans, pastures, forests, sky, clouds and on and on, not to mention our beautiful red rocks of Sedona. And she just keeps sharing her beauty with us in spite of the abuse she has endured from humanity for so long. We have raped her of just about all that she has to offer without us giving back a whole lot in return. We just keep taking and taking and taking, she keeps giving and giving and giving, just like most mommies with their children. With patience and love she just keeps giving in the hope that one day a lesson will be learned.

So, look around you, all around you, at all that inhabit our beautiful Planet Earth, at all that our beautiful Planet Earth is herself. Watch the animals, the birds, even the creepy crawlers, and learn. Yes, this is our School Called Planet Earth, how fortunate for us that she has allowed us to be here and that she is as patient and as loving as she is.
