GOD'S LITTLE MESSENGER
Even though fully grown, she was tiny and helpless as she was carried by gentle, loving hands into the safety of Summer's sanctuary by Summer's daughter Bobbi. Somehow an injury had become a part of this tiny birdies life.
A request for prayers was immediately sent out to SBI members for this precious little soul. A network of love was set into motion. Summer shared with her that she understood that whatever she decided to do was okay, whether she stayed or continued her journey back home was her decision and would be right for her.
She was nurtured and loved by Bobbi, Emmy, Summer and Karl and when Summer and Karl had to leave on business our little birdie made her way to our home for more love and nurturing. She could not walk or fly, but was willing to let us hold her, stroke her and feed her. She ate her birdseed and drank water as though there was no tomorrow. Her eyes sparkled as she lay in the palm of my hand and looked straight into my eyes as though she knew we were doing all that we could to help her, there was so much love and trust there. She would try to walk and would fall to one side, the same would happen when she would try to fly. She couldn't seem to get her balance. We communicated through our eyes and our hearts.
She rallied for two days, eating with great gusto and opening her tiny beak so that I could squeeze drops of water into her mouth from a cotton ball. Then, last evening as I was giving her her before bedtime meal she seemed very weak and very tired. She showed little interest in food or water. I gently laid her in her bed and she settled down peacefully for the night, unbeknownst to me that she had made her decision to continue her journey back home.
The next morning as I entered the room where she was sleeping, our cockatiel, Jamie greeted me with her chirping. I was surprised. This is the room where I have my time with God and Spirit every morning, Jamie knows the process and so is always quiet until I am finished, so her chirping this morning was not normal. I immediately checked on our little birdie, and yes, she had made her transition very peacefully during the night.
I was so sad and started to wonder if there was something I could have done differently. It played over and over in my mind, the what ifs, and then I heard, "My dear Bev, you know that everything is always in right order". And then...
The room filled with the spirit of this little birdie. She thanked me for giving her the opportunity to stay just long enough to complete her journey here with a full belly and plenty of water and all the love and comfort she could possibly ask for. She said she had touched the lives that she wanted to touch. Bobbi, Emmy, Summer, Karl, my brother Bill and his wife Kay, Bob, Jamie and myself just to name a few. She had helped to create a grid of healing and love with all who had prayed for her. She could not have done any of this had she not been injured and picked up by those gentle, caring, loving hands of Bobbi.
She had done what she came to do and it was time for her to go and she did it gently, in peace and comfort, filled with love, compassion, and gratitude for all who had helped her complete her journey.
Through her willingness and her love she gave us the opportunity to love more, to feel compassion deep within our hearts. She showed us love in its true meaning, she showed us the Oneness of all things. God was absolutely shining out through her all knowing eyes, they were bright and alive and you could see that she knew exactly what was going on. When you looked into her eyes you could see eternity
She is truly "Gods Little Messenger".
